The Marlboro Township Police Honor Guard Unit which has been in place since 1997 currently has 7 active members and is headed by Lt. Javier Garguillo. All members must have a minimum of three years of service in the department, and either have prior military service or Police Training Commission drill instructor status. Once an officer has been selected for the unit, they are further trained in drill and ceremony, funeral services, and parade detail. The Honor Guard is utilized at the behest of the Chief of Police as a representative of the Marlboro Township Police Department when responding to Funerals, Parades, and Special Events that may call for Color Guard Details.
